What if a brand asked its hosts to help devise its own communications? ‘See the real Rio/Havana, Stay with me’ (2015) was Airbnb HQ’s first in-house advertising effort that bypassed ad agencies in order to empower its hosts, who directly co-wrote and co-produced personal, first-hand invitational content, including city activations and a VR film.
