‘Every Day Is Day One’ celebrated Samsung as first-time ASP supporter (Association of Surfing Professionals, now WSL). This multi-awarded non-surf surf film, aimed to defy genre clichés and stereotypes with the underlying motto that surf is everyone's, from the 9 y.o. beginner in India to the 11th time World Champion in Fiji, no matter how experienced you are, every day there are new challenges to take on - in both surf and technology).
In front of the lens, alongside a roster of beautiful kooks were surf’s living greats — Kelly Slater, Stephanie Gilmore, Gabriel Medina, Johanne Defay... Behind the camera, magic director Mark Molloy, cinematographer Greig Fraiser and ‘Absolute Beginners’ my favourite David Bowie’s track, re-rendered purposefully for the film by Angela McCluskey in NYC.
Triple winner at Cannes Lions Festival and according to Adweek, one of the ‘World's Best Commercials of the Year’.
